Mines

Data Description:

This dataset provides the distributions of mines across the central Indian landscape as: a) polygon vector shapefile and b) point vector shapefile. The source of this data is the Open Street Map of the USGS National Minerals Information Centre. The data was updated on May, 2017 and uses WGS 84 projection. The data was created by downloading the open street map as a shapefile. For dataset (a) missing mines, located using Google Earth, were manually digitized for Central India and Western Ghats as per the IUC metadata file. For dataset (b) points layer was created by determining the centroid of each polygon using Add Geometry and Make XY Event tools.
