Network for Conserving Central India

Presenters

Presenter Information - Talks
You will have 15 minutes for your talk. We recommend you use this time for a 10 min talk with 5 min for Q&A. We will maintain strict time for talks to ensure that everyone has time to speak in our very full schedule as well as not impinge on our actionable science sessions.

Please bring a copy of your Powerpoint presentation on a USB drive to the welcome table on January 3rd so we have time to check your presentation for compatibility. Please ensure you format your file for a PC computer. We shall provide a microphone and laser pointer for your convenience.

We request that you present on highlights from your work that directly relate to conservation and development in Central India. If session leaders specifically requested you to share work occurring outside Central India, please clearly discuss the relevance of your work for Central India. We encourage you to end your presentation with a slide that summarizes the practical implications of your work for managers, researchers and conservationists (our audience).

Presenter Information - Posters
The poster session will be held independent of talks and we expect poster presenters to remain by their posters throughout the hour long session to explain their work to viewers. Please put up your posters at the assigned locations after registration on day 1 of CILS3 (January 3rd 2019).

We encourage you to prepare a 1-min 'speed talk' / ‘elevator pitch’ to effectively share your work with viewers. We recommend you focus on the problem, results and implications of your study/project for management/conservation in Central India, and focus less on methods. The poster format is an excellent way to engage one-on-one with viewers in a conversation about your work as well as to ask for suggestions and feedback.

The orientation of your poster can be either landscape or portrait, but please ensure that the poster size does not exceed the following dimensions irrespective of its orientation: 3 ft x 4 ft (91 cm x 122 cm, otherwise known as A0 size). Participants are responsible for printing and bringing their poster to the symposium.

Resources for poster presenters:
  1. You may wish to download a template for your poster.
  2. We encourage you to look online for guidelines on how to create a well-designed scientific poster. You might want to get together with your friends, colleagues, and/or students with design expertise. Collaborations between science and design are awesome! See - here, here and here for poster inspiration.

We are excited and eager to see your presentations at CILS3!
